Omar Group of Companies has grown significantly since its inception in the early 1970s as Omar Associates (Pvt.) Ltd., initially focused on civil, electrical, and mechanical contracting. Over the years, the group has expanded into various industries, completing key projects with organizations such as the Pakistan Armed Forces and Port Qasim Authority.
In the 1980s, Omar Group partnered with a Saudi firm for projects in the Middle East. By the 1990s, the group diversified with Capricorn Associates, introducing Pakistan’s first discount card and launching heavy equipment rentals and kitchen equipment supplies. The group played a pivotal role in constructing Karachi’s Quaid-e-Azam International Airport.
In 2000, Omar Group entered industrial sands production, establishing one of the largest plants in Asia and becoming Pakistan’s sole supplier of USGA-standard golf course sands. Expanding further in 2005, the group became a leading exporter of talc and other minerals, partnering with Italy’s IMI Fabi to create a state-of-the-art minerals processing facility. The group also ventured into agrochemicals with a range of pesticides and fertilizers.
In 2015, Omar Group acquired the Quetta Gladiators cricket franchise, marking its passionate involvement in sports. Today, the group continues to lead across multiple sectors with innovation and excellence.
